At a consultation we can help you decide which treatments would be most effective for you. Everyone is different in how they age and both Botox™ and Restalyne fillers offer a range of solutions: to make you feel good about how you look again.

About Botox™

Botox™ is a simple, non surgical treatment which is injected directly into the muscles between the brows. It works by blocking nerve impulses and relaxing tight facial muscles, effectively helping the face to stop frowning!

With real, noticeable results, no surgery and no recovery time, there are many reasons why Botox™ has been chosen by millions of people.

About Restylane

The Restylane range of products are made in Sweden, a country known for its beauty. All the products are based on hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in your own skin.
Hyaluronic acid is one of nature’s most versatile and fascinating substances; it has many functions, including giving our skin elasticity and providing volume, resulting in a youthful appearance. As we age, our body produces less hyaluronic acid causing a loss of elasticity and volume in our skin; resulting in wrinkles, folds, and dehydrated skin which can make you appear tired and older than your years.

Does it hurt?

Very tiny needles are used to inject the medication and only small amounts are used. Any discomfort is usually minimal and short-lived; and there is normally no need for any sedation or anaesthesia. Depending on your treatment, anaesthetical gel may be used to numb the area we are treating but sometimes the use of local anaesthetical injections in the mouth is advised. Your treatment and options are discussed at your initial consultation.

How long will the effects of Botox/Restylane treatment last?

Results will vary from patient to patient due to different skin types and varying depths and permanence of frown lines and folds.

(Botulinum Toxin Type A ) Botox™ treatment on average lasts 4-6 months
Treatment time 10 – 15 minutes

Restylane fillers on average last 9-12 months. Treatment time 20 – 45 minutes

The effects of your first treatment are reviewed after approx. 2 weeks and any further treatments or top-ups can be discussed at your review.

How does Restylane work?

The Restylane range of aesthetic treatments is designed to get to the heart of the problem of ageing skin. The various products in the Restylane filler and skin booster range are designed specifically to work at different levels of your skin to give you a radiant look you’ll love.

When correctly administered, Restylane relaxes specific muscles that contribute to specific wrinkles. Restylane fillers smooth out wrinkles, increase lost volume in the face and define your lips. Skin boosters are specifically designed to restore your skins natural hydration, or hydrobalance leaving your skin looking visibly younger, smoother and softer, with a beautiful lustre and glow. The Restylane range of fillers and skin boosters are scientifically proven to assist in improving your skins elasticity and structure, giving you a youthful look you’ll love.

Who would benefit from Restylane skin boosters and fillers?

The range of products can be used in a number of ways to suit your individual treatment needs. Restylane can:

Will Botox/Restylane skin boosters and fillers make me look artificial?

No. Unlike surgical facelifts, this kind of treatment is very specific and works only on those muscles that produce the facial lines you want to reduce. Other muscles are unaffected, which means your natural facial expressions remain the same.

Botox relaxes specifically targeted muscles that create lines including: frown lines, crow’s feet and ‘tired eyes’. The treated area will look smoother and lines less visible because the treated muscles will not perform the normal contraction/crunch as the muscle has been relaxed.

Restylane fillers smooth out wrinkles and grooves, increase lost volume in the face and define your lips.

Restylane is applied direct to the lines or areas that need smoothing or plumping; as it does not affect the muscles at all,or your natural facial expressions.

Restylane has been proven to stimulate your own collagen production, leaving your skin looking visibly younger, smoother and softer – with a beautiful lustre and glow.

Who can administer Botox™, Restylane and similar products?

Facial rejuvenation is a medical procedure and products can only be prescribed by a qualified Doctor or Dentist. Treatments should only be carried out by a medically qualified Doctor, Dentist or a qualified nurse under their supervision.

Are there any adverse effects?

In a small number of cases the application of Botox or Restylane may cause localised bruising, slight swelling or redness at the site of the injection. This usually disappears very quickly and can respond well to the application of a cool pack to the area.

Botox and Restylane fillers should not be used in or near areas where there is. or has been skin disease, inflammation or skin related problems.

There are a number of medical factors which also need to be taken into consideration before going ahead – and potential side effects are discussed with you at your initial consultation, along with the consent procedure.

After an initial treatment you will notice a gradual fading of the effects over time and at this stage you can return for another treatment if you wish too. With repeated treatments the effects lasts longer. On average treatment twice a year is sufficient to maintain facial rejuvenation.
